SONY LEGACY MODExample for an official CD-R. Elvis NowElvis Now was first issued by BMG in the early 90's in many countries. The
last issue was made (of course as "normal" CD) by Sony Music USA in the year
2010.
Also the back cover looks identical. Only if you look at the barcode you can
see a difference. The code is new. The barcode is valid and registered to Sony Music (Sony-BMG) USA
And now we come to the point of shame for a CD collector.
The "new" CD is a CD-R.
As for all CD-R, there is no matrix number, but the identification code for the CD-R media plus the original catalog number: (12089103 T80-UG-5 A764549) We have read out the CD-R with a special program. The result shows that it is a CD-R and that it contains the ISRC codes.Illegal copies never have the ISRC-Code in the sub-code of the tracks. The code will be destroyed when copied.
