Issued in 1997 by BMG Nederland BV to mark the two-day “Always Elvis” event in Amsterdam (August 16th - 17th) and as well to promote the “Always Elvis - The Dutch Album”. The CD is packaged in a slim jewel case. The front cover features a color shot of Elvis from the 1968 Comeback Special in his black leather suit. The title of the CD is written across the bottom of the cover. In the top left corner it states : “Special Promotion Edition 16th - 17th Augustus 1997 , Amsterdam”. The reverse of the cover insert shows a 1950’s black and white shot of Elvis in the recording studio plus a color shot of the “Always Elvis - The Dutch Album” cover and the track listing. In addition , there is also in Dutch text explanation of the purpose behind this disc plus the BMG and RCA logos as well as the various companies who sponsored the festival in Amsterdam. The words “Promotional Copy - Not For Sale” appears in the bottom left corner. The inside of the insert also contains an ad for a memorabilia company and a CD-ROM entitled “American Originals - Pin Up Girls”. The CD itself is silver with “Elvis” and “Special Promotion Edition” phrases written in red with a photo of Elvis in his Gold Suit plus the title of the CD and the RCA / BMG logos in grey/black. The disc features Dutch disc jockey Tom Mulder narrating the Elvis story in Dutch in addition to the extracts from the “Always Elvis - The Dutch Album”. | |||
