On April 22, 1958, Ariola Sonopress GmbH was
founded in Germany.
In the 1970s, the record company founded subsidiaries in Europe and
America. In 1986 Sonopress began producing compact discs. One year
later the label Ariola merged with UFA and Sonopress to BMG Ariola
München GmbH as subsidiary label of Bertelsmann Music Group, which
in turn has become a part of the international media conglomerate
Sony Music.
Under the Ariola Express label were released various low-budget and
special interests CDs.
Only a few publications also used the RCA and BMG logo. |
