This magazine is a well illustrated Australian overview of the life and career
of the man himself. It's almost a book in magazine format and is better than
many books to boot. As an added bonus it came with a free 'PLATINIUM: A Life In Music' sampler CD attached to the front cover of the magazine. The CD was issued to promote the 'Platinum – A Life In Music' box-set. CD + magazine came sealed in a poly-bag. It's a 100 pages with 21 articles on various Elvis topics – including a complete discography - and lots of full color and b&w pictures – plus full color inserts advertising a 'Jailhouse Rock' plate and a 'Barbie Loves Elvis' doll gift set. The 6 track promo CD came in a cardboard sleeve, and is a copy of the European promo given away to BMG delegates who attended the 1997 conference in Crete - June 1997. This Australian promo CD however, has a different track listing than anywhere else. 'Johnny B. Goode' replaces 'Way Down'. An unusual thing about this release is, that it was available to the Australian public for a very limited time. It has been said, that the magazine (with the sampler) sold out within a day. The 'Platinum - A Life In Music' box-set has been one of the box-sets most requested by Elvis collectors worldwide. |
