  Description:   The Polish writer, instructor and film producer Janusz Plonski, who in 1980 went to Germany specifically to work for the German broadcaster ZDF, produced the 1996 documentary "Elvis Forever". The film is about the worship of Elvis Presley in the US.

The following year he published the first original Polish book on Elvis - DLACZEGO JA, PANIE (Why Me Lord).

Exclusively with the book came the first original produced Polish BMG CD with 17 gospel songs - all chosen by Janusz.

The book - which unfortunately is released in Polish only – covers Elvis religious background and his love of gospel music. Did this contradict his worldly success and, if so, how did it affect him?
It takes a look at the possibility of an Elvis cult. Excellent print on pink paper.

There have been some re-releases of the book - but without the CD.

The first release of the book was sold in Poland for 50 Zlotych (approx. 12 Euro), but today it's a hard to find collector's item.

"Why Me, Lord?" - is the titel of one of the beloved gospel songs which Elvis often performed. It is a question which the artist asked himself: "Why, Lord, did you pick exactly me, Elvis?"
Elvis performed gospel songs throughout his life. On stage and nearly always with gospel bands accompanying him: Jordanaires, Imperials, Stamps and the trio Sweet Inspirations. These songs were nominated for the prestigious Grammy Award three times.
