Elvis Presley became a movie star in 1956 with "Love Me
Tender", and would go an to appear in a total of 33 feature films (31 musicals
and two concert documentaries).
Although Elvis garnered some serious notice as an actor for such early roles as half-breed Pacer Burton in the western "Flaming Star", audiences - and the studio bosses - preferred to see him in frothier flicks like "Girls! Girls! Girls!" and "lt Happened At The World's Fair". Although critically panned throughout the 1960s, Presley's films were mostly well received by his fans, and led to Hal B. Wallis, who produced nine of Presley's films, to describe them as "the only sure thing in Hollywood" The singer would go an to star alongside several well-established actors, including Walter Matthau, Carolyn Jones, Angela Lansbury, Barbara Stanwyck, Jack Albertson, Gig Young, and Mary Tyler Moore. And others who would later become famous, like as an 11-year-old Kurt Russell, making his screen debut in "lt Happened at the World's Fair" (1963). With "Live Love Hollywood - Elvis at Radio Recorders Studio" you can hear never before released alternate, unedited and complete recordings from the movies "Flaming Star", "Girls! Girls! Girls!" and "lt Happened At The World's Fair". Not a typical EFE fanclub CD. This title was released under the ELVISONE label and were sold for commercial reasons by the EFE shop "Shoppin' Around".
