Both masterpieces helped define the exact nature of early rock & roll and contain several commercial hits with which the King of Rock made his name, such as "Blue Suede Shoes" (the version used on the soundtrack is a new recording of the song Presley first taped in 1956), "G.I. Blues," "I'm Comin' Home," and "In Your Arms," among others.
The two LPs topped the Billboard Top Pop Album chart and Elvis was at his commercial peak during this period.
