Note:   Elvis - 40 Greatest Hits Cover layout and content (tracks from CD 1 and tracks 1 - 8 from CD 2) copies the Arcade / K-Tel LP from 1974 which was the entry to the Elvis-World for many fans (also me). So I take it as a sentimental journey back.
It would be nice if the official publisher do the same as the bootlegger... bring us back some famous vinyl releases on CD.

The "rare" tracks on CD 2 can be found on many, many other before released CDs.

 

      
    From the release notes:
The 'ELVIS 40 GREATEST ' album was UKs 5th best selling album of 1975 and the 6th best selling LP of the 1970s.
It topped the charts for ten weeks and part of its success was due, undoubtedly, to the fact that it was advertised widely on TV - the first album ever to be
promoted in this way.
Equally the change to get so many good tracks on one release, and at such a reasonable price, was something fans and the general public alike did not want to miss. The album was not, however, issued in the USA.
RCA also later released this album in October 1978, when it reached No. 40 in a 14 week chart run.
Despite it's legendary status, the original album was never released on silver pressed CD. Until now......
