Notes in the booklet:
A NOTE TO THE MUSIC COLLECTOR
Not only did Elvis define the culture of Rock and Roll, but he also created an enormous new audience for the music industry. To this day, he has had more charted hit singles and albums, and has spent more time at the #1 position on the Pop charts than anyone. Elvis' sales of records, cassettes and compact discs exceed 1,000,000,000 units. His vocal range, phrasing, feeling and the number of textures, sounds and musical colors he produced with his voice are unequalled.
Since his untimely passing August 16, 1977, at the age of 42, Elvis has been the focus of many retrospective albums. However, his original master tapes were considered impossible to find. And so, have never before been heard on CD.
Great effort went into locating the rare authentic Elvis Presley session master tapes used in the production of this album. The master recordings were found in extremely unlikely places, throughout RCA's vast network of tape archive facilities.
The digital compact disc is capable of providing a virtually noise-free environment for the storage of musical sounds. This state of the art technology is the ultimate means of reproducing Elvis' finest recordings. |
